Oh, how I love to get text messages like that. I hope he means that I'm his sweet girl, and that he has an appointment tomorrow, but we're going to dance later that night. That would be awesome.

He's my new salsa dancing friend, he's gay as fuck and such an amazing dancer. And he's going to teach me, I'm so excited! (I've never had salsa lessons, which leads to awkward situations on the dancefloor. "Oh, sorry!" "Eh, what?" "What do you want from me???")

Me and my friend are going to bike to a hippie beach here in Andalucia! How cool is that? First three days of biking from Granada to Almeria, and then HIPPIE BEACH!

There's going to be dancing on the beach, by the camp fire, NAKED. FUN!

Just posting this to let you guys know I'm in Spain now, and I'm loving it here. I spend some time in Málaga, then a day in Granada, and now I'm in a little village called Trevélez. it's in the Alpujarras-mountains, to the south of the Sierra Nevada. I'm up at the farm most of the time, without electricity, hot water or any form of heating, and I'm loving it. It does mean however, that I'm not on lj that much. So I just wanted let you guys know that. I'm still reading, just not commenting.

I'll be around more when I get back, I guess. :) See you in september!

I have news! Exciting news! *drum roll* In February, I'll be going away for 7 months, to Andalucía, Spain. I'm going to work there as a volunteer on an ecological farm. With horses! I want to improve my Spanish and you know, do something useful for the world, and this is a good way to do it. And I'll get to learn how to ride horses, which is a pretty big plus. :)

The farm I'll be staying at is called Camino Verde, and it's a horse farm that grows its own horse feed and offers rides through the Sierra Nevada National Park for tourists. I'll be doing all sorts of work, both on the land and taking care of the horses.
And when there are rides, I'll be cooking for the tourists. They have picnics in the national park, and I'll probably be the one to drive the food over there too, in a four wheel drive, which is totally awesome.
The last thing I'm gonna be doing over there is homeschooling their kids (aged 6, 9 and 13), which is also very exciting, but kinda scary too, since I don't have any experience whatsoever with kids and/or teaching.

I already bought all sorts of shiny new things for the trip, like a new backpack, new shoes, and a very pretty new laptop. It's one of those netbooks that only weigh 2 pounds, it's tiny (& cute!). And of course I bought a lot of new clothes, because a girl needs new clothes when she's going away for so long, right? And while it's gonna be very hot in the summer, right now there's still a lot of snow in the mountains. So I needed to buy fleece sweaters, and new jeans. Really!

Now all I need to do is find a place to stay in Málaga for a couple of days, because that's where I'll be arriving and I won't be able to catch a train to the actual farm until the next day, or maybe even later. I've signed up with the couchsurfing network, but actually emailing people to ask them if I can stay there is scary. So I've been procrastinating like crazy. Someone tell me to do it, please. Thanks!

I can't find a download for SPN 4.03 anywhere! And I wanna watch it! There's episode reviews popping up all over my flist, and I can't read them! And it sucks! Yes, I do realize that I sound like a 9-year-old that isn't getting their candy, but I want my Sam&Dean-flavored lollipop! Dammit!

So, last night, I Contributed To Fandom! I wrote fan-ku at the fan-ku fiesta madame_meretrix hosted. It was so much fun! And I was told they were actually kind of ok, so I figured I'd repost them here.

I totally had an oven fire today at work! It looked all special effects-movie style. It sort of bursted out of the oven door when I spilled some oil in the back of the oven, which fell into the fire underneath it. But luckily I could close the door, cutting off its oxigen. The food inside wasn't even ruined. So, yay. It looked really cool, and I was pretty happy with myself for keeping a clear head.

Also: I'm rereading In from the cold, that homeless!Jensen fic where he's all confused and living on the streets, and Jared works in a clinic. I love love love it so much, I just had to officially rec it here. So, people, go read it! It's nice and long, full of cute, and just perfect. I think I have a thing for messed-up!Jensen. *g*

So ehm, so far only j2 recs, but I'm planning to dig up aaaall my favorite Buffyverse stuff too. And of course Qaf and maybe some HP. I've been reading some Ron/Draco and Harry/Draco fic lately, and I really like those pairings.

In other news: I just realized I have to work the weekend of the Amsterdam Pride. That sucks. I was looking forward to the parade through the canals!

I had to work all day on my birthday, but luckily it was quiet, everybody wants to eat outside when the sun shines.

I'm back from Madrid! I had the most wonderful time, the weather was great, the food was delicious and the city was beautiful. And! I actually spoke spanish with spanish people! I'm so proud of myself, it was totally scary at first, but after a while it was ok. I might post some pictures of Madrid later, but also, maybe not. I'm lazy that way.

And today I moved to my new apartment! A lot of my stuff is still in boxes, but it already looks nice and you know, I have my computer with my internet connection, so I feel at home already. *g* Just now, I watched like a minute of the new SPN ep, but decided it would not be a smart idea on my first night here to watch something scary.

So now I'm gonna read some HP fic. Yes, really, Harry Potter. I read book 6 in Madrid, and I liked it, so now I think I'm ready for some fic. I just don't know where to start! *is scared of new fandom* Wish me luck!

Just letting you guys know I won't be reading my flist for a while, because..

... I'll be in Madrid for a week! YAY!

Of course the scary part is that everyone's expecting me to do all the talking/translating. And I'm not that good yet at speaking spanish. But I guess I'll live, because omfgyay, Madrid!

Tomorrow two of my friends are coming over to watch qaf! We usually watch Spanish art house movies together (there's gay sex in like every single one of them, lol), and I've been pushing them for forever to come watch queer as folk with me. I already got them to watch Torchwood, but somehow never managed to get them to watch queer as folk.
But tomorrow they're coming, and I'm so excited! I'll finally have rl-people to talk about qaf with! Yay!

Also, we're gonna eat delicious vegetable soup. I put in some red beets and tortellini-pasta, and it's soooo good! So really, if you wanna make your vegetable soup taste really really yummy, put in some beets. (Hey, I'm a cook, I know what I'm talking about! Trust me. ;))
